Matt McKee

I am a 19 year veteran of student ministry that is passionate about training the next generation of youth workers as well as challenging students to live the John 10:10 life. I am currently the Director of Student Ministry at Christ United Methodist Church in Jackson, OH where I have been for 7 years. In addition to this, I am adjunct faculty at Ohio Christian where I am the director of youth ministry. I teach youth ministry courses in addition to the occasional AGS class, and now I am also a part of the on-line learning community. I am here to facilitate the course as well as help you on your own personal and educational journey, so don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have.

Indiana Wesleyan University:

Bachelor of Arts (Communications and Christian Ministry, Minor in Youth Ministry) 1999

Master of Arts (Ministry) 2007

I have been married to my lovely wife Megan for 12 years. She is an elementary music teacher.  We met at IWU where we traveled together in a wind ensemble. We have three children, Mattylynn Elizabeth who was born on October, 3rd 2011 and twin girls, Meradith Kay and Mirianna Jane that were born on March 16th, 2013. We also have one dog-a Yorkshire terrier named Jack that I believe is sometimes more of a handful than our babies.

Additional Random Facts

I am a trivia junkie and a student of pop culture. It is not uncommon to hear me dropping random movie quotes into everyday conversation and being able to share useless facts about something at just the right time. In fact a lot of people refuse to play trivia based games with me because of it. I was even selected to audition for VH1’s “World Series of Pop Culture,” but our team did not make the cut.

I am a thrill seeker and will try just about anything once. My most recent challenge was to complete the Warrior Dash, which is a race through the woods that includes 13 obstacles. My next goal is to complete a half marathon and compete in “tough mudder” which is another endurance race similar to the warrior dash.

I am currently on a personal journey to become healthier with a goal of losing 150 pounds and getting into better shape. It’s a tough battle, but slow and steady wins the race.

On the side I do stand up comedy and emcee concerts and events. My life is an adventure and with the Lord’s help it gets more exciting everyday.

Life Verse
